About the Initiative

Sustainability Dialogue with Leaders and Pioneers is a joint initiative of:
The main actors in this format are internationally leading personalities whose work makes a significant contribution to the subject of sustainability. Following their in-depth addresses, they face a panel of critical experts/challengers (hearing). The free of charge public events take place in the Auditorium Maximum of the ETH Zürich or in the auditorium of the University of Zürich with an audience of approx. 100 – 400.

Vision
The "Sustainability Dialogue with Leaders and Pioneers" is one of the most prestigious lecture series in Switzerland for the constructive-critical sustainability dialogue with outstanding international personalities. The sustainability debates sensitize a wider public without forgoing in-depth consideration of the subject and include a personal exchange of experiences among top representatives from the areas of business, science, and politics.
Launch
The lecture series was successfully launched on 21 January 2004 with a Sustainability Leader Dialogue with the Nobel Laureate Joseph E. Stiglitz on the subject "Governance for a Sustainable World". Well-known authorities who have been part of the Dialogue series include Dr. Claude Martin (former General Director, WWF International), Hernando de Soto (President of the Instituto Libertad y Democracia), Peter Brabeck-Lethmate (CEO and President of the Board of Directors of Nestlé) and Peter Eigen (Founder and Advisory Committee Chairman of Transparency International).
