Peter Fanconi, Head of Private Banking, Vontobel Group

Former managing partner and CEO of Harcourt Investment Consulting AG (since 2009 incorporated in the Vontobel Group), Peter Fanconi is member of the Group Executive Management of Bank Vontobel Group. In 1997 Peter founded MAP Group AG, an internationally active Management Consulting group. After the take over and merger of the company into PricewaterhouseCoopers he was promoted managing partner and responsible for Business Developments within the Corporate Finance department. Peter Fanconi graduated as Master of law with special focus on economic science at the University of Zurich.

Paul Frentrop, Head of Corporate Governance, APG Asset Management

APG administers the collective pension scheme for 2.7 million Dutch government & educational workers. Prior to joining APG, Paul was the director of the European shareholder consultancy firm Deminor. Paul previously worked at merchant bank MeesPierson as company secretary and started his career as a financial editor for the newspaper NRC Handelsblad. His publications include: "A History of Corporate Governance (1602-2002)" and a biography of the former ReedElsevier chairman P. Vinken.

Paul Lee, Director - Americas, UK, Africa and Australasia, Hermes Equity Ownership Services Ltd

Paul Lee is a member of the UK's Auditing Practices Board and a non-executive director of Australian engagement firm Regnan. He is a member of the executive committee of the Quoted Companies Alliance. He chaired the consultative group which developed Guidance on Good Practice in Corporate Governance Disclosure in developing economies for the UN Conference on Trade and Development. Paul Lee joined Hermes in 2000. Having graduated with a first in law from Oxford University, he spent a decade as a journalist on various specialist legal and financial journals.

Peter Gomez, Chairman, SIX (Swiss Infrastructure and Exchange) Group; Dean, Executive School of Management, Technology & Law, University St. Gallen

Peter Gomez earned his doctorate in Management at the University of St.Gallen. He started his career in 1977 as visiting professor at the State University of New York. In 1979 he joined the management team of the Ringier Group and subsequently served as Director of Development and Acquisitions at the Distral Group (ANOVA Holding). In 1989, Gomez was a founding partner of Valcor AG. Since 1990, he has been a professor and is also Director of the Institute of Management at the University of St.Gallen. From 1999 to 2005 he was President of the University, and he presently serves as Dean of the Executive School of Management, Technology and Law at the University of St.Gallen. In 2006, Peter Gomez was elected Chairman of the Board of the Swiss Stock Exchange SWX and in 2008 of SIX Group.

Martin Maurer, General Secretary of the Association of Foreign Banks in Switzerland

Martin Maurer studied economics and business administration at Basel University, London School of Economics and Stanford University. After having finished his PhD in 1989 he joined the Swiss National Bank as an economist. Between 1991 and 1996 he participated as an independent consultant in different projects for the World Bank, the Interamerican Development Bank, the Swiss National Science Foundations, and several latinamerican institutions. In 1996 he joined the Secretariat of the Swiss Bankers‘ Association. In February 2000 he started working as a banking consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 2001 he has assumed his current function.

Zeno Staub, Vontobel Group

Zeno Staub has been Head of Asset Management of Bank Vontobel Group since 2008. Since 2003 he has been Member of the Group Executive Management while serving as Chief Financial Officer and then as Head Investment Banking. Before joining Bank Vontobel Group in 2001, he co-founded and led Almafin AG, a company now incorporated in the IT company Sungard Investment Systems SA.
Zeno graduated with a MA degree in Economics and holds a doctoral degree from the University of St.Gallen (HSG).

Rudolf Strahm, former Price Regulator of Switzerland

Former Swiss National Councillor Rudolf Strahm was Price Regulator of Switzerland from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that he was National Councillor for 13 years. He studied chemical sciences and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 5 years. He later studied management and economics at the University of Berne. He led several business associations and is now a lecturer and writer. His latest book Why we are so rich was published in 2008.

Casper Selg, Swiss Radio DRS

Casper Selg obtained a law degree from the University of Basel and passed the bar exam in 1979. In 1980 he became associate foreign editor at Swiss Radio DRS travelling to the Middle East, covering Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Israel and the occupied territories. From 1984 he was Foreign Editor and Chief Editor of the popular evening radio news programme "Echo der Zeit". He was US Correspondent in Washington D.C. for two four-year terms and deputy Editor-in-Chief of Swiss Radio DRS. Since 2001 he hosts "Echo der Zeit". He was named “Swiss Journalist of the Year” by a jury of peers in 2005.

Markus Nöthiger, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers

Markus Nöthiger has more than 15 years of professional experience in corporate responsibility and has been leading numerous projects in the field of managing extra-financial value drivers. He joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2001 and leads the sustainability services for PwC Switzerland. He has been with legacy-Swiss Bank Corporation (SBC, later UBS) from 1994 to 1998. In 1998 he founded his own consulting company and served as an outsourcing partner for UBS and other financial services companies. He has also elaborated numerous thought leading articles and speeches on the topics of corporate sustainability, integrity, governance, and brand and reputation management.

Kai-Uwe Schanz, Principal Partner, Dr. Schanz, Alms & Company

Kai-Uwe is a Zurich-based strategy and communications consultant specializing in financial services. Prior to setting up his own firm, he was the Chief Communication & Corporate Development Officer at Converium Holding Ltd as well as Head of Corporate Messaging and Chief Economist Asia-Pacific at Swiss Re. Dr Schanz received a PhD degree from the University of St. Gallen. He has published extensively in national and international business and trade media. Dr Schanz also serves as a Research Fellow at Beijing University.
